On the occasion of the 84th edition of the Bol d'Or Mirabaud, the Sailing Squad is back with an exciting season 3.
Three young, international yachtswomen and Shirley Robertson, double-Olympic medallist coach, get to know one another and learn to perform as a team with a view to taking part in the Bol d’Or Mirabaud. This year, the Sailing Squad has teamed up with the highly experienced Christian Wahl and his legendary D35 catamaran – winner of the 2022 Bol d’Or Mirabaud.
The aim of the game is of course to win. Will the young Sailing Squad athletes, who are unfamiliar with both Lake Geneva and the boat, manage to convince their coaches to be selected on race day? Sailing Squad Season 3: an adventure full of twists and turns to be enjoyed in three thrilling episodes from 5 to 15 June.
The team created by double Olympic champion Shirley Robertson meets in Verbier for a team building event and meets the "wizard of the lake".
After their mountain getaway, the Sailing Squad will get down to business. The girls will meet the Double You Team and will be tested on the mythical D35 by Christian Wahl. Who will he keep?
The training sessions are over, now it's time to deliver on the water. What will Christian Wahl's strategy be and how will the Sailing Squad perform during the dreaded Bol d'Or Mirabaud? Will they manage to win the trophy?
Called the 'wizard of the lake' following his multiple victories in the Bol d'Or Mirabaud - including in 2022, for the 8th time - Christian Wahl, a fine strategist, is one of the undisputed experts in Decision 35. With more than 30 participations in the Bol d'Or Mirabaud and 15 podium finishes, he knows every corner of the lake and every wind of Lake Geneva. With his dual experience as a top-level sportsman and manager, Christian Wahl is also at the head of several companies, including BJ office & coffee, a family business founded over 110 years ago by his great-grandparents.

I have always sailed and been forever obsessed with winning an Olympic Gold medal. In 1988, my father won Olympic gold and has been my greatest inspiration. When I was 18, I went full time sailing with the British Sailing Team and won my first European Championship medal. I have since completed 2 Olympic Campaigns, become 470 World Champion in 2019 and won my very own Olympic Gold in 2021. I am now hoping to compete in the first ever women’s America’s up, which will hopefully be a turning point for women in professional sailing.

I managed to win a total of 5 medals at youth world or european championships in the Opti, ILCA 4 and ILCA 6 and have now transitioned into the ILCA 6 elite fleet where I qualified for the Swiss Sailing Team b-cadre. My focus lies on the olympics with the dream of winning gold at LA 2028. Additionally I am a part time student in business administration and communication.
