Mirabaud announces a multiannual partnership with the Centre Pompidou and supports the exhibition by Christian Marclay
Founded in 1819, Mirabaud – now an international group – carries out its Wealth Management, Asset Management and Corporate Finance activities based on values deeply rooted in the company: independence, conviction, responsibility and passion. ‘Creativity and passion are fundamental to any kind of innovation, to think differently, to adapt’, explains Lionel Aeschlimann, Managing Partner at Mirabaud. In the spirit of sharing, discovery and dialogue, Mirabaud has been actively involved for several decades in promoting contemporary art.
“We are delighted to be associated with the Centre Pompidou, a major cultural institution which, with its focus straddling history and modernism, aims to promote modern and contemporary art through unique exhibitions and to support emerging design and creativity”, states Stéphane Jaouen, Director of Mirabaud Wealth Management in France. “It makes sense to start this partnership with the exhibition by Christian Marclay, a major Swiss artist, several of whose works are in the Mirabaud collection”. Christian Marclay’s work, in its rawest form, delivers a version of what the spirit of pop is today.
Laurent Le Bon, President of the Centre Pompidou, added: “Mirabaud’s commitment is a precious support for contemporary art. This new partnership is essential to the Centre Pompidou’s artistic ambitions and to promoting the sharing of knowledge among all audiences”.
Mirabaud also joins the Friends of the Centre Pompidou, a community of more than 800 French and international patrons who have contributed for nearly 120 years to enriching the collections of the National Museum of Modern Art and expanding their influence.
“Art allows us to connect with our emotions and enables us to think more deeply about humanity and the world”, continues Lionel Aeschlimann. “Contemporary artists invite us to open our eyes and our minds and to be ready to be surprised and amazed by the ever-changing aspects of life. This is why Mirabaud is particularly interested in contemporary art. When combined with works from past centuries, it builds a bridge between tradition and modernity. This approach also reflects the Group’s committed, long-term vision in its management activities”.
The Mirabaud Group supports contemporary artists in their creative endeavours - by acquiring works for its collection – as well as galleries and other fixed or temporary exhibition venues, with a view to sharing the artistic experience with as many people as possible. Founder and historical partner of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMCO) in Geneva, Mirabaud is also a sponsor of the Zurich Art Weekend, the Quartier des Bains, Geneva.Art, the Geneva Lux festival and the Cerezales Foundation in Spain and has supported the FIAC in Paris for many years.
