Stars at the helm
It's the return of an exciting documentary series which brings together some of the world's most talented young sailors for one big regatta - and even more than that: The Sailing Squad season 2!
Don't miss the teaser on May 30, and the reveal of the episodes, beginning on Thursday, June 2 and going on for two weeks! With many surprises in store!
On the occasion of the 83rd edition of the Bol d'Or Mirabaud, we have launched season 2 of our mini-series "The Sailing Squad".
This year, follow a team of young 100% feminine international sailors. Trained in Valencia, where they have taken over their new hydrofoil boat, a 69F Persico, they will then meet again in Geneva for the mythical Bol d'Or Mirabaud sailing race. The four young sailors are mentored by double Olympic champion and British TV presenter Shirley Robertson.
They have four days to get to know each other, set up a strategy, discover Lake Geneva and the boat that will take them on this adventure.
A lot of things will happen to them during this journey, surprises and above all a lot of emotion for memories that will remain engraved in their minds forever.
2 Olympic gold medals
Shirley Robertson has been racing boats at an elite level since the early 1990’s. As an Olympic athlete, she was the first British woman to win consecutive Gold medals, and went on to compete in various international classes, campaigning in both TP52s and Extreme 40s to international success. Most recently Shirley has extensive experience as helm on various superyacht racing campaigns. Off the water, Shirley has for over a decade been the face of CNN Mainsail, hosting the prestigious sailing programme for well over one hundred editions.
Further media engagements have included three Summer Olympics, as the BBC's live on water reporter, and the on-course face of BTSport's Live coverage of the 35th America's Cup and recently at the 36th Cup in Auckland was co commentator for the official world feed. She hosts the renowned Shirley Robertsons’s Sailing podcast - worth a listen everyone! And for the last 2 seasons she’s campaigned a Sunfast 3300 alongside her team mate Henry Bomby in the mixed offshore category.

Growing up between the Lake Leman and the Baltic sea, this swiss swedish was destined to sail! Often the only girl on the team, Amanda takes the opportunity to get noticed. How you ask? Thanks to her strong character and determination! When she's not on, or in, the water, you'll find Amanda in the mountains or at school, working on her environmental science classes.

Born on Caribbean island Curacao, I played every possible sport when I was young, but with my dad being an Olympian Sailor the blood was strong to continue with sailing. Back in the Netherlands for a better education and now living in the Hague, it's become home a bit as well. At the age of 14, I had no doubt sailing was what I wanted to do in my life, my biggest passion, and I wanted to do everything I could to keep bettering myself. I feel very lucky that my biggest passion has also become my career. My goal is to become the best sailing version of myself, which means everyday I learn something is a good day. At the moment full focus is on the Paris 2024 Olympics.
